Core Vaccinations

Vaccinations are an important part of the preventative health care plan for your pet.  For mature animals, titer tests can be run to evaluate the amount of vaccine antibodies in the blood circulation and to determine if your pet needs to be vaccinated. Dogs with high enough levels of antibodies in circulation do not need to be vaccinated. Over vaccinating causes stress on the immune system of your pet. During your visit be sure to ask your mobile dog vet about how the titer tests can be performed for your dog.

Parasite Screening and Prevention

Proper parasite control and prevention is crucial to your pet’s health.  Fleas, ticks, heartworms and intestinal worms can cause significant damage.  These organisms spread disease, will lower the immune system and make your pet more susceptible to illness.  Parasite screening for your dog can be easily performed by the mobile dog vet.

Wellness Examination

The importance of regular physical examinations cannot be overlooked. Abnormalities can be discovered during your dog's exam even in apparently healthy animals. Detection of disease or behavioral problems early in their course provides the best opportunity for successful therapy and often with less expense. In general, we recommend annual exams for young and middle aged dogs, and biannual for geriatrics (over 10 years) or individuals with chronic conditions. The veterinarian will perform an essential head to tail wellness exam during your visit.

Diet and Food Therapy

Your dog's diet is extremely important to their health.  The food you offer often needs to change along with your dog's age and the current state of their body.  Also, many commercial foods are composed of fillers and antigens which in many cases cause allergies in dogs.  For instance, many skin disorders can be linked to a food allergy.
